Networking Events

Make new connections and meet with colleagues at the following networking events, which bring you face to face with scientists and engineers from around the world. Be sure to add some of the following events to your meeting schedule. PLEASE NOTE: Tickets must be purchased by February 11, 2022, through the TMS2022 registration form for any event requiring a ticket for entrance. Tickets will NOT be sold on-site at TMS2022. 

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2022

Welcome Back Reception

Welcome back! Join your fellow attendees on the first night of the conference for an informal networking event celebrating the return of the in-person TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition. Designated networking spaces for each of the five TMS technical divisions will allow you to identify and meet up with colleagues who share your professional interests, as well as with TMS division and technical committee leaders. It will be an excellent opportunity to introduce yourself to the colleagues you’ll be seeing throughout the week and to connect with old friends. Remember to pick up your badge at the registration desk prior to the start of the event.

Student Networking Mixer

Exhibit Opening Reception and Poster Session I

Ticket Price: $75
Held in connection with the REWAS 2022 and Furnace Tapping 2022 symposia, the PubZone event lets attendees connect in a relaxed, casual setting. Drink tickets and light appetizers will be provided; attendees must purchase tickets for this event through the TMS2022 registration form by February 11. Note: You must be 21 or older to attend. Please be prepared to present a valid photo ID at the event.

This long-standing TMS event will serve as an informal kick off to the first day of programming for the Fourth Summit on Diversity in the Minerals, Metals, and Materials Profession (DMMM4). Organized by the TMS Diversity Committee, this year’s program will feature facilitated small group discussion on topics that will be explored more deeply as part of DMMM4. 2022 TMS-AIME Awards Ceremony & Celebration Dinner

Ticket Price for Celebration Dinner: $95 (There is no cost to attend the awards ceremony portion of the event)
Show your support for colleagues who will be accepting awards from TMS and the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME) at the 2022 TMS-AIME Awards Ceremony & Celebration Dinner. There is no cost to attend the awards ceremony to honor those individuals who are being recognized for excellence in their fields. If you would like to attend the celebration dinner following the awards ceremony, you may purchase a ticket through the TMS2022 registration form by February 11.

Make plans now to honor the courage and accomplishments of past and 2022 recipients of the TMS Ellen Swallow Richards Diversity Award and the TMS Frank Crossley Diversity Award, while also sharing perspectives on progress made and progress to come on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession.
