The Shri Ram Arora Award for Materials Science and Engineering Education recognizes, encourages and supports the quest for knowledge within the materials science and engineering community. Est. 2001.

Dr. Sasanka Deka Biography: Dr. Sasanka Deka, is affiliated with the National Nanotechnology Laboratory of INFM, Italy Quote: "The TMS Foundation Shri Ram Arora Award is an honor and recognition for one’s scientific contributions to the materials science. It is the acknowledgement of my ability and capability of doing adept science work in the specific field. This award also means to me a motivation and encouragement for the young scientist."

Through a grant from the Dr. Om Arora family, the TMS Foundation has established the Shri Ram Arora International Award for Materials Science and Engineering Education as a means of perpetuating their father's quest for continual learning and academic challenge. The award recognizes, encourages, and supports the quest for knowledge with the international materials science and engineering community.
