Borgestad Fabrikker AS founded in 1887, started as brickworks but grew rapidly into a producer of quality refractories. In 1996, Höganäas Bjuf, with more than 200 years experience of manufacturing refractory bricks, became a part of Borgestad. Today Borgestad is truly international, exporting over half its production and is the largest supplier of non-basic refractories to furnace and kiln related industries.
