2001 TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition
During the week of February 11–15, 2001, at the 130th Annual Meeting & Exhibition of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), you can join more than 4,000 science and engineering professionals, representing more than 70 different countries, who will come together for the opportunity to add to their own store of knowledge by capitalizing on the expertise and experience of their colleagues. More than 200 sessions and 1,000 individual presentations are scheduled. Whether your technical interests lie in precious metal extraction, aluminum processing, high-temperature superconductors, or just about any other materials field or metallurgical discipline, you will find programming that addresses your most pressing needs.

The 2001 TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel will be the headquarters hotel for the event. All conference events, including registration, technical sessions, and the exhibition will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

ATTENDEE SERVICES

Business Services

Rhino Business Services, located near the TMS exhibition hall, will provide exclusive business services for all 2001 Annual Meeting attendees in the Ernest N. Morial Con-vention Center. Rhino Business Services will be open daily to help you with the fol-lowing services:

Offering complete dining, housing, area, and tour information The information booth is located in the Hall A Lobby of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Dining Services
Location: Hall A Lobby, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Let the dining service attend to your restaurant and entertainment needs. Whether your needs are for a party of one, or fifty, or more, the dining service will recommend and make your reservations at New Orleans’ most enjoyable restaurants, golf courses and entertainment locations. While at the meeting, stop by the dining services desk in the Hall A Lobby of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from 12:00 pm–5:00 pm, Sunday, February 11–Wednesday, February 14.

Cyber Center
Location: Hall A Lobby, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Stay connected . . .

Visit the Cyber Center, sponsored by Reftech, in the convention center lobby. Open during all event hours, attendees can check e-mail or access internet services. Due to the popularity of the Cyber Center, users are asked to restrict their sessions to 15 minutes or less to give everyone the opportunity to check messages. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Employment Referral Center
Location: Hall A Lobby, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

An employment referral board will be located at the TMS Membership Booth located in the Hall A Lobby at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Attendees may leave their resumes and employers may post job openings.

Guest Hospitality
Location: Warwick Room, Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel

A special guest hospitality area will be hosted Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:30 am to 10:00 am in the Warwick Room at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel. TMS will sponsor a continental breakfast for the convenience of spouses and accom-panying persons of meeting attendees. The Guest Hospitality Room will be a good place to meet, socialize, and gather for tour departures.

To “register” an accompanying person, please provide your guest’s name on your meeting registration form. They will receive a complimentary badge identifying them as a Conference Guest, which will allow admission to the TMS Exhibition and Reception, and the Guest Hospitality Room.

Note: The Conference guest badge is intended for spouses and accompanying persons of registered attendees and for identification only. It does not permit access to the technical presentations.

Publication Sales

Be sure to stop by the TMS Publications Sales Area, Hall A Lobby of the convention center. You can examine and select from more than 150 proceeding volumes, text-books, monographs, and CD-ROMs—many at reduced prices. Information on nearly all areas of minerals, metals, and materials technology will be available.

Note: All attendees who pre-ordered concurrent proceedings volumes via the advance registration form will receive a ticket in their registration packet that should be presented at the designated pre-ordered and authors’ complimentary book distribution desk in the convention center. All pre-ordered books must be picked up on-site at the meeting, unless arrangements for shipment are made and the appropriate shipping fee is paid in advance.

SPEAKER SERVICES

Authors' Coffee
Location: La Louisiane Ballroom B/C, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Attention speakers, session chairs, and organizers! Your attendance is required on the day of your session in order to coordinate last minute changes and instructions before the presentations begin. Authors’ coffee will be held each morning, 7:15–8:15 AM in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in the La Louisiane Ballroom B/C.

Audio Visual Headquarters and Slide Preview
Location: La Louisiane Ballroom B/C, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

Speakers may preview their slides before their technical presentations in the slide preview area located in La Louisiane Ballroom B/C at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Arrangements must be made ahead of time to use and view special order equipment.
