FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON STRUCTURAL & FUNCTIONAL INTERMETALLICS

The Fifth International Conference on Structural & Functional Intermetallics (ICSFI), sponsored by The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), will be held July 16-19, 2000, at the Westin Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Westin Bayshore has a waterfront location overlooking picturesque Coal Harbor.

The Westin Bayshore is Vancouver’s only waterfront resort hotel, which is in the process of a $35 million re-development, scheduled for completion early summer 2000. Adjacent to the Westin Bayshore is a marina and 1000-acre Stanley Park where you can enjoy the great outdoors and the sophisticated pleasures the this beautiful, cosmopolitan city.

The Organizing Committee has reserved a block of rooms at the Westin Bayshore Hotel at a special discounted room rate. Nestled on the water's edge, the Westin Bayshore overlooks picturesque Coal Harbor. The resort offers 517 guest rooms, which feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass windows that provide stunning views of the mountains, city, and harbor. Also offered is a marina where half-day fishing trips or dinner cruises can be arranged.

The resort boasts a variety of restaurants and lounges, an outdoor pool, sun decks, a health club, and a bar that serves yogurts, fruit, and freshly squeezed juices every morning. In addition to the exquisite shops in the lobby, the resort offers a complimentary shuttle to transport you to the downtown area for shopping or business.

An important component of The Fifth International Conference on Structural & Functional Intermetallics is the opportunity to meet with representatives of the industry from all over the globe. Participants should fax or mail their conference housing form (which can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat), as early as possible to the Westin Bayshore Hotel. The housing cut-off is June 16, 2000. After June 16, 2000, the conference rate and availability at the Westin Bayshore may not be available.
