MILESTONE DATES

November 5-8, 2000
Conference

The Second International Conference on Processing Materials for Properties (PMP2000) will take place November 5–8, 2000, in San Francisco, California.

Under the joint organization of the Mining and Materials Processing Institute of Japan (MMIJ) and The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), PMP2000 will provide a forum for the world's materials community to address the continuing globalization of materials production and the creation of new technologies and materials which are broadening the horizons of materials in associated processing routes. The Renaissance Parc Fifty-Five Hotel will host this prestigious conference.

THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF PMP2000

The Organizing Committee wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all Authors, Plenary Session Speakers, Keynote Speakers, Topic Chairpersons, Session Chairs and Editors of Proceedings for their contribution to the success of the Second International Conference on Processing Materials for Properties. We recognize the time and effort required to write strong technical papers.

TECHNICAL SCOPE

PMP emphasizes the processing aspects in materials research, development and production. Materials characterization and properties, and major processing science and technology will be included and presented at this conference so as to stimulate mutual interaction among processings in different materials fields, rather than confined in the small number of particular technology, aiming for the Olympics in "materials processing for properties".

The technical topics include Copper, Nickel, Zinc, Lead and Tin, Rare Metals, Nonferrous Alloys and Light Metals, High-Technology Materials: Electronic, Magnetic and Photonic Materials, High-Temperature Materials, Composite Materials, Thin Films and Coatings, Powder Preparation and Processing, Solidification Processing, Electrolytic Processing, Novel Materials Developments in Aqueous Processing, Control and Analysis in Materials Processing, Resources and its Related Environment, Waste Management, and Iron and Steel Making.
