Travel By Air
The nearest airport is the University Park Airport (SCE), and offers daily flights to/from Detroit, Philadelphia and Washington/Dulles with convenient connecting flights from there. Additional major airports under 4 hours from State College:

Harrisburg International 2 hours
Pittsburgh International 3.25 hours
Baltimore-Washington International 3.5 hours
Philadelphia International 3.75 hours
Washington Dulles International 3.75 hours

Penn Stater Airport Shuttle
The Penn Stater provides complimentary transportation to and from the University Park Airport at State College. Guests can make arrangements in advance with the hotel or at the airport by using the courtesy phone.

Recommended Dress
Casual clothing is in order with a sweater or light jacket occasionally needed for the evenings. Layered clothing is recommended for cooler days or in air-conditioned buildings. The average afternoon temperature in June in the Nittany Valley reach the middle 80s while nighttime temperatures drop to between 55 and 65 degrees. Comfortable walking shoes, a light raincoat and an umbrella are also recommended.

Aside from the many activities available at the PSU campus, State College offers a wealth of arts, entertainment and recreation for visitors including:

  • Penn’s Cave
    Take a one-mile boat tour through America's only all-water cavern and visit the animal preserve.
  • Bellefonte Historical Railroad
    Enjoy a leisurely trip through the Nittany Valley.
  • Pennsylvania Military Museum in Boalsburg
    The history of America's citizen soldiers is preserved in this museum, surrounded by quaint shops and antique emporiums in Boalsburg, Lemont, and Centre Hall. These shops feature the works of local artists and craftspeople
