SPECIALTY MEETINGS
Specialty
meetings feature intensive programming in a single topic area
(e.g., electronic materials, superalloys, and recycling) and may be
one-time events or new installments in a series. Although TMS directly
organizes and administrates its specialty meetings, these meetings often
feature cosponsorship of other organizations.

2008 Fourth International Conference on Multiscale Materials Modeling (MMM-2008)
October 27-31, 2008; Tallahassee, Florida
Multiscale modeling of materials is a major materials science field that attracts a wide range of scientists and engineers from academia, R&D laboratories and industries. This field promotes the development of predictive materials research tools to understand the structure and properties of materials at all scales. The field also strives to use these predictive tools to design and process materials with novel properties. By its very nature, the field of multiscale modeling of materials transcends the boundaries between materials science, mechanics, and physics and chemistry of materials. The increasing interest in this field by mathematicians and computational scientists is creating opportunities for making materials predictions with unprecedented levels of rigor and accuracy.
The MMM conference series is the world's largest theoretical and computational materials science forum which aims to disseminate the latest development in the field of multiscale materials modeling.

Processing Materials for Properties-III (PMP-III)
December 7-10, 2008; Bangkok, Thailand
Through novel processing technologies, superior materials properties are being pursued, developed and designed for specific applications and requirements in diverse industrial and consumer products. These high performance materials require efficient and optimum processing technologies that have to be manufactured at reasonable costs with the least environmental burden. Thus, the desire to develop the best processing technologies resulting in exceptional materials properties has required an extensive increase in interdisciplinary linkages and communication among different materials processing disciplines as well as among different segments of the processing industries and materials product manufacturers.
