International Symposium on
Liquid Metal Processing and Casting
September 20-23, 2009 * Santa Fe, New Mexico
The International Symposium on Liquid Metal Processing and Casting (LMPC) is an international forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest advances and research in liquid metal processing and casting. The 2009 symposium will be held September 20-23 at the El Dorado Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.
Who Attends?
LMPC brings together material scientists, chemists, metallurgists, process and control engineers, aerospace engineers, casting engineers and modelers, both from industry and academia, who are interested in the study and application of liquid metal processing and casting.
Deadline: January 15, 2009
Professionals involved in the study and application of liquid metal processing and casting are encouraged to submit abstracts for LMPC in any of the following technical areas:
- Vacuum Arc Remelting
- Electro-Slag Remelting
- Primary Melting
- Solidification
- Simulation and Modeling
- Steel and Superalloy Processing
- Titanium Processing
All abstracts can be conveniently submitted online using ProgramMaster. A 150-word abstract, as well as an extended abstract, must be submitted by January 15, 2009. Conference organizers receive electronic notification of abstract submissions upon entry. Log in to ProgramMaster or click on “Help” from the menu for instructions.
Extended Abstract
A one- or two-page extended abstract is also required to assist organizers in considering the material planned for presentation. The extended abstract should be uploaded as a Microsoft Word or Portable Document Format (PDF) attachment when the initial abstract is submitted. Only the 150-word abstract will be printed in the on-site technical program.
Author Guidelines
- Abstracts must reveal and demonstrate reasonable scientific content. Abstracts describing work that has not been released for public disclosure are not accepted.
- Students must mark abstracts as "Student Paper" and satisfy format guidelines.
- Authors are expected to present their papers in person at the conference. If an author must be absent or withdraw a paper, he or she must notify the program chair well in advance.
