Cancun is located where Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula meets the Caribbean Sea. It is Mexico’s most popular destination, attracting two million visitors annually. The area is rich with Latin culture, ancient Mayan ruins and friendly people. The 40-mile coastline offers warm waters, calm surf and white sandy beaches. Average temperature is 25.5 degrees Celsius (78 degrees Fahrenheit).
Downtown Cancun provides lively night clubs and numerous restaurants ranging from regional Mexican foods to international cuisine. The local marketplace is the hub for bargains, and there are many possibilities for daytime excursions, from visiting Mayan ruins to world-class ocean fishing.
