SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY APPROPRIATIONS ENCOURAGING AT THE COMMITTEE STAGE
FROM THE FEDERATION OF MATERIALS SOCIETIES: As this column was written, appropriators in both the House and Senate were working to move at least some bills to final passage before the month-long August recess. In general, the committees were funding the National Science Foundation, DOE science programs, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology at levels at or above the administration’s requests in the American Competitiveness Initiative. More details will be provided in TMS e-News and in next month’s column. |
