Recipients: The 1997 LMD Light Metals Award

Peter Waite Biography: Peter Waite is a senior scientist with Alcan International. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering at the University of Waterloo in 1982 and 1985, respectively. For the last 12 years, his work has focused on fundamental and process research in the field of molten aluminum treatment--degassing, filtration, and fluxing.

Roger Thiffault Biography: Roger Thiffault is a casthouse production engineer at Alcan Smelter and Chemicals Limited. He joined Alcan after earning his B.S. in materials science from Ecole Polytechnique.
