Mats HillertLecture Title: "Interactions of Solutes with Migrating Interfaces in Alloys"Biography: Mats Hillert is a professor emeritus at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He earned his B.S. in chemical engineering at Chalmers Technical University, Sweden, in 1947, and his Ph.D. in physical metallurgy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1956. He began his career as a research associate with the Swedish Institute of Metals Research in 1948, where he remained until 1961, when he became a professor of physical metallurgy at the Royal Institute of Technology. Dr. Hillert is an honorary doctor of Chalmers Technical University, Grenoble Technical Institute, and Trondheim University and an honorary professor of Beijing University of Iron and Steel and Northwest University of Technology, Shenyang. He has received several honors. |
