The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society's Extraction & Processing Division Extraction & Processing Technology Award was established in 1955 and recognizes a paper containing notable contributions to the advancement of the technology of the extraction and processing of nonferrous metals.

Biography: Cris Copini is a senior technologist at Pasminco Budel Zink. He earned an M.S. in chemical engineering from Groningen State University, Holland.

Biography: G.H.R. Janssen is employed by Paques B.V.

Biography: Cees J. N. Buisman is managing director of Paques B.V. He earned an M.S. in environmental engineering and a Ph.D. in environmental biotechnology both from Wageningen University, Netherlands. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 publications and holds 20 patents.

Recipient PhotoSjoerd Vellinga

Biography: Sjoerd Vellinga is employed by Paques B.V.
