Marc
André Meyers
Citation: "For significant contributions to the understanding
of mechanical behavior of materials specializing in effects of dynamic
deformation, fracture fragmentation, and processing."
Biography: Marc André Meyers is a professor of materials
science at the University of California, San Diego. He received his
Ph.D. at the University of Denver. Dr. Meyers has done extensive research
in a broad range of areas within materials science, ranging from dynamic
processing (explosive consolidation and combustion synthesis) and dynamic
fracture and fragmentation to dynamic and shock response of materials.
Additionally, he has made contributions in twinning, constitutive equations,
and the effect of grain size on the strength of metals. He is a co-founder
of the Center for Explosives Technology Research in Socorro, New Mexico,
and was co-founder and co-chair of the EXPLOMENT conference series.
Dr. Meyers is the author or co-author of 240 research papers and three
books and is the co-editor ofseven books. |
