Honors and Awards

Recipient: 2008 John Bardeen Award

The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society's John Bardeen Award, established in 1994, recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions and is a leader in the field of electronic materials.

Citation:
For his pioneering contributions to epitaxy, to characterization of strained heterostructures, to self-organized quantum dots and to their device applications.

Biography:
Pallab Bhattacharya is a Charles M. Vest Distinguished University Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, James R. Mellor Professor of Engineering, and Professor of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
