Recipient: 2008 Light Metals Division JOM Best Paper Award
The LMD JOM Best Paper Award, established in 1994,
recognizes an individual whose continuous service to TMS Light Metals Division activities has clearly facilitated the Society’s capability to serve its light metals-oriented members and their supporting organizations.
Paper:
“The Evolution of Technology for Light Metals over the Last 50 Years: Al, Mg, and Li”
Quote: “It is a great honor to receive the JOM Best Paper Award for the Light Metals Division. The most important activity of TMS is the communication of technical information and advances. JOM is a very significant part in this communication. One other major publication of TMS is Metallurgical and Materials Transactions, but JOM reaches a much broader readership, bridging the divide between academia and industry, between R&D and application. It is gratifying to have one’s writing recognized with this award.”
