The TMS Leadership Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the national and international materials community in some aspect of the fields of metallurgy and materials.

Biography:
“I have provided support for basic research activities in metals for over 39 years, and I have been a member of TMS since 1963. Throughout my career I have viewed TMS as the premier association for enabling the interchange of information on the science of metals. TMS membership is composed of experts in materials science and engineering from the universities, national laboratories, and industry, and I have had the pleasure of dealing with representatives from all of these groups for many years. Accordingly, it is most gratifying to me to be recognized by the TMS membership for the 2008 Leadership Award.”
