SOCIETY AWARDS: (16 month cycle)
  • October 31: Nomination deadline.
  • February: At the TMS Annual Meeting, society-level award selections are made by award subcommittees, followed by review and approval by Honors & Professional Recognition Committee.
  • June: The Board of Directors reviews and approves society-level award recipients as recommended by the Honors & Professional Recognition Committee.
  • July: Award recipients and principal nominators are notified of their selection.
  • February: Awards are presented during the TMS Annual Meeting.
DIVISION AWARDS: (11 month cycle)
  • March 31: Nomination deadline.
  • May: Appointed division award subcommittees review and make selections.
  • July: Award recipients and principal nominators are notified of their selection.
  • February: Awards are presented.

To nominate a deserving professional review the descriptions and criteria on the Honors and Awards page and complete the convenient online Nomination Form, or download the Nomination Form (PDF) which contains a complete explanation of each award and how to nominate a colleague. Nominations must be received according to the timeline and deadlines as listed. TMS members may also be interested in reviewing the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME) site for additional award opportunities. Nominations must be received according to the posted deadlines.
