Wolfgang Schneider Director, Membership Development

Wolfgang Schneider is R&D manager of the Casting Technology and Recycling Center of VAW aluminium AG in Bonn, Germany, where he has worked since 1980, and a professor of metallurgy at the Technical University of Berlin. His research interests include direct chill casting, filtration, modelling, alloy development and engine casting. He earned a Dipl.-Ing. in foundry technology and a Ph.D. in metallurgy from the Technical University of Berlin.

Schneider, a TMS member since 1996, was chair of the Aluminum Committee for 2001–2002 and is a member of the Strategic Planning Advisory Committee, as well as the German Society of Materials Science and the German Foundrymen Society.
