TMS Local Sections

In support of its mission, The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society disseminates information to the metals/materials community in part, through local area sections. There are currently two active TMS local sections in strategic locations throughout the United States; most are jointly affiliated with other metals or materials societies.

The sections are run independently of TMS; each section elects its own officers and schedules its meeting programs; some assess a minimal annual dues fee and do their own mailings. As available, information on local section meetings is published in JOM.

LOCAL SECTIONS

While level of involvement varies with each local section, examples of group activities include plant tours, speakers, social events, awards, and even planning symposia. TMS encourages members to support their local sections by participating in their activities. For further information on the following local sections, contact the local chairperson, or contact TMS Member services.
