Announcing the 2001-2002 TMS Student Awards Program

In 2001-2001, TMS will award more than $50,000 in cash and prizes to students studying metallurgy and materials science engineering.

The complete guide to the TMS Student Awards Program is now available in your winter student chapter mailing and through TMS OnLine at www.tms.org/Students/Awards.html. Each student must submit an application to TMS headquarters no later than May 1, 2001, and selection committees will make their recommendations to the sponsoring divisions by August 15, 2001. Award winners will be notified shortly thereafter.

• 1st Prize: $1,000 ($750 cash + $250 travel expenses)
• 2nd Price: $500 ($250 cash + $250 travel expenses)
• One $2,000 cash award sholarship
• Four $2,000 cash award scholarships
• Three $4,000 cash award scholarships
• One $5,000 cash award scholarship
• Two $2,500 cash award scholarships
• Two $2,000 cash award scholarships
• $200 cash award + $300 travel expenses
