Are You Receiving JOM?

From time to time, TMS headquarters receives calls from anxious students and faculty who have not received their issues of JOM at the correct address; or worse yet, they have not received JOM at all! If you've experienced problems in receiving your journal, here are some helpful tips for identifying and correcting the problem by enabling you to contact the correct group to assist you.

As the journals are distributed based on your student member affiliation, it is important to understand what kind of TMS student member you are so that you contact the proper group who can resolve the problem. The listing below should be helpful in determining how you receive JOM and who you can contact for assistance.

If the administrative society listed does not correct the problem and you continue to experience difficulties in receiving JOM, contact Nellie Luther at TMS at (724) 776-9000 ext. 213; fax (724) 776-3770; or e-mail natale@tms.org.

The faculty advisor is responsible for arranging circulation of these journals among joint TMS/MetSoc-CIM student members.

TMS Students (Outside of North America only) Contact: TMS, Customer Service Department, 420 Commonwealth Drive, Warrendale, Pennsylvania 15086; (724) 776-9000, ext. 270; fax (724) 776-3770. Method: TMS maintains a database of student member addresses for JOM to be distributed individually to all TMS international student members. Second option: TMS international chapters are encouraged to arrange for drop shipment of JOMs to student members. This requires the identification of faculty advisor or member to be responsible for distributing JOM to individual members upon arrival. This option typically allows for a more timely arrival of JOM than via individual subscriptions.
