How To Receive $500 Toward Travel Expenses for TMS-Sponsored Conferences

A primary benefit of establishing a TMS student chapter is the availability of up to $500 annually to fund student travel to TMS-sponsored conferences. It is at these conferences that students have the opportunity to meet students from other universities, make future professional contacts, and attend sessions on the latest developments in their technical interest areas.

To receive the $500, the chapter faculty advisor needs to complete the TMS Student Chapter Travel Reimbursement Request Form located within the Student Reference Manual and submit it to TMS Headquarters for payment. Beginning this fall, reimbursement request forms for the TMS Fall Meeting as part of Materials Week and/or the TMS Annual Meeting must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of the conference. Reimbursement checks will then be available to the attending faculty advisor and/or chapter student member during the TMS Student Affairs Committee meeting at the conference.
