The TMS Student Chapter Travel Reimbursement Program, supported by the TMS Foundation, permits every student chapter affiliated with TMS to request up to $500 per calendar year to help support the travel of students to TMS-sponsored or cosponsored conferences. Forms are available in the Student Chapter Handbook or by contacting Nellie Luther at TMS at (724) 776-9000, ext. 213, or e-mail luther@ tms.org. Applications can be submitted at any time. Requests received prior to Materials Week '96 will have their travel monies available in Cincinnati.
Money is also available through Electronic, Magnetic, and Photonic Materials Division (EMPMD) Student Travel Scholarships. Each year, the EMPMD selects up to five TMS student members to receive $500 each to support their travel to Materials Week. Interested students are required to submit a letter of application identifying their interest in attending the conference by August 15 of each year.
Watch future issues of Professional Preface for information on student travel support to the 1997 TMS Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, February 9-14.
