Chapters Compete in Membership Challenge '97

Nine chapters competed in the Membership Challenge '97 and increased their student membership by 15% or greater. Those participating in the challenge were:

University of British Columbia
Brown University
California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
University of Central Florida
Drexel University
Georgia Institute of Technology
Iowa State University
University of Kentucky
Washington State University

The University of British Columbia student chapter increased their ASM/TMS student membership by 85%, thereby winning the $500 prize for most students recruited.

The Georgia Institute of Technology student chapter won $250 and a trophy for the most creative recruitment strategies. The trophy rotates annually to the chapter winning this category.
