End the Academic Year on a Po$itive Note--It Just Makes $en$e!

A few years ago, we created a TMS student timeline, which we've revised slightly for this issue of Professional Preface. In reviewing your activities over the past year, ask yourself if you've taken advantage of all the benefits TMS offers to student members. Why not make one last effort use your benefits by entering the TMS Student Awards Program. The deadline for entries is June 30, 1998. Here are just a few reminders to help you plan ahead.

January:
Make your last minute arrangements to attend the TMS Annual Meeting.

February:
Attend the TMS Annual Meeting
See what's new on TMS OnLine. Has your chapter developed a homepage yet?

March:
See your faculty advisor for scholarship, paper, and chapter contest information.

April:
Graduating seniors: contact TMS for junior member status and a free book!
Pose for your chapter's photograph to submit with your Chapter of Excellence entry.
They're coming--FINALS!

May:
Changing schools? Going home? Be certain to have your membership address updated.

June:
Mail scholarship, paper, and chapter contest entries to TMS before the end of the month.

July:
Back-to-school shopping.

August:
Call for graduate school applications and begin to mull over your options.
Do you need speakers for your chapter activities this year? Access the TMS Speakers Bureau.

September:
Pick your sessions in which to be a student monitor.
Make your last-minute arrangements to attend the TMS Fall Meeting--Don't forget to pre-register.

October:
Attend the TMS Fall Meeting.

November:
Graduating seniors: contact TMS for junior member status and a free book.

December:
Pick your sessions in which to be a student monitor at the 1999 TMS Annual Meeting.
Changing schools? Going home? Be certain to have your membership address updated.
