The College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Wyoming seeks faculty candidates having a strong research record in materials science and engineering, with significant experience in carbon engineering or carbon materials. The successful candidate’s home department within the CEAS, faculty rank, and whether tenured or tenure-track will all be commensurate with the candidate’s background and experience. Individuals with any background, including academic, industrial, or national laboratory are encouraged to apply and we are particularly interested in candidates that would be hired at a senior level.
The successful candidate is expected to lead an on-going, multi-disciplinary effort to advance aspects of the development, production, manufacture, and application of carbon-based products and processes as per the Carbon Engineering Initiative, which is overseen by UW’s School of Energy Resources. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong externally-funded research program, teach, and have a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate education. An existing Materials Science and Engineering Program at UW engages approximately 25 faculty from 6 departments and provides core facilities for materials characterization. *A Ph.D. or equivalent in engineering, materials science, or related field.
