The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks new faculty at the Assistant Professor level.
Particular areas of interest include design of nanomaterials, especially the integration and assembly of nanostructures into larger functional structures and materials, bio-inspired hierarchical materials design, and the interdisciplinary area between soft and electronic nanomaterials. Specific areas include (but are not limited to) soft electronic materials or hy-brids that connect with our current nanomaterial design efforts in the areas of next-generation flexible electronics, hu-man-machine interfaces, and environmental and sustainable materials.
Successful candidates will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise graduate student research; develop and direct a strong, funded research program; participate in departmental and university faculty governance; and contribute to professional and public service.

Requirements: PhD or equivalent degree in Materials or a related field, 2 years research experience, and an outstanding reputation in the field.
