2004 TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition

March 14-18 · 2004 TMS ANNUAL MEETING · Charlotte, North Carolina

During the week of March 14-18, 2004, at the 133rd Annual Meeting & Exhibition of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), you can join more than 3,500 science and engineering professionals, representing more than 60 different countries, who will come together for the opportunity to add to their own store of knowledge by capitalizing on the expertise and experience of their colleagues. More than 200 sessions and 1,500 individual presentations are scheduled. Whether your technical interests lie in precious metal extraction, aluminum processing, high-temperature superconductors, or just about any other materials field or metallurgical discipline, you will find programming that addresses your most pressing needs.

This year's meeting will feature programming by the Electronic, Magnetic & Photonic Materials Division; Extraction & Processing Division; Light Metals Division; Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division; Structural Materials Division; TMS Education Committee; TMS Public & Governmental Affairs Committee; the National Science Foundation; International Magnesium Association; International Titanium Association; and Materials Science Critical Technologies Sector of ASM International.

The TMS 2004 Annual Meeting & Exhibition continues to gain recognition as the preferred international forum for the timely presentation of scientific research, technological advances, and new product developments across the spectrum of metals and advanced materials. In fact in 2003, its 132nd year, the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition set a new high with more than 1,900 individual presentations by some of the most innovative materials scientists and engineers representing more than 60 countries.

For 2004, in Charlotte, North Carolina, even bigger things are expected for the 133rd annual event. A total of 54 different symposia are planned—another new high. But quantity will not be the focus in Charlotte. The overall quality and relevance of the program to today’s most dynamic materials issues, will make the TMS 2004 Annual Meeting & Exhibition a must attend for every member of the materials community.

The program will be comprised of six primary tracks:

  • Advanced Materials
  • Electronic Materials
  • Extraction and Processing
  • Light Metals
  • Micro- and Nanoscale Technologies
  • Physical Metallurgy

PLUS two special Hot-Topic Tracks—
