MS&T '03 not only retains the best of two very successful and long-running ISS and TMS conferences, but it synthesizes them into an entirely new, unique, and dynamic event meshing the best that both sponsoring societies have to offer. TMS participants represent an international cross-section of veteran research professionals from industry, academia, and government laboratories; their focus is both up and downstream, embracing wide-ranging theoretical materials development and modeling in conjunction with practical design, processing, fabrication, characterization, application, and recycling. The ISS participants strongly reflect a highly international and life-cycle-oriented perspective on the world's most important and widely used structural metal: steel.

MS&T '03 attendees will be exposed to theoretical and practical concepts; ferrous and nonferrous technologies; advanced and fundamental applications; proposed and hands-on processing methodologies; the present and future of metals and materials industries.

MS&T '03—as members of the metals and materials community have come to expect from TMS and ISS—will provide a complete conference experience, inclusive of an expansive technical program, distinguished lectures and invited guest speakers, extensive proceedings, a high-value and diverse technological exhibition, myriad networking opportunities, student activities, short courses, and social functions.

MS&T '03 is an evolving event and is one that will benefit from your participation—perhaps as an attendee, perhaps as a presenter or organizer, perhaps as an exhibitor, perhaps in some other capacity. The opportunities are extensive and pertinent to your areas of expertise.
