Revised Second Edition of Flash Smelting Textbook Now Available
Warrendale, PA – A popular text and reference book covering topics related to processing metals in flash furnaces has recently been published by TMS (The Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society). Flash Smelting: Analysis, Control, and Optimization is now available in print as a revised second edition.
Authored by W.G. Davenport (University of Arizona), D.M. Jones (Kennecott Utah Copper Corp), M.J. King (Hatch Inc.), and E.H. Partelpoeg (EHP Consulting, Inc.), the book chronicles recent developments made in flash furnaces and the process of flash smelting. Divided into two sections, a descriptive section and a mathematical section, this edition includes the contributions of two new authors, updated information that reflects current industrial practices, and an updated mathematical approach.
The first edition of Flash Smelting had significant global appeal and was purchased and used by industrial engineers in 35 countries to control and optimize flash furnaces.
