TMS and Kluwer Academic Publishing Present Metal-Matrix Composites Database
Warrendale, PA—TMS (The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society), through an agreement with Kluwer Academic Publishing, is developing a dynamic on-line database of companies working in the metal-matrix composites industry.
The database, originally developed as part of the Kluwer publication Metal Matrix Composites in Industry: An Introduction and a Survey will be maintained through the metal-matrix composites segment of the Technical Questions@TMS on-line resource (http://members.tms.org/TAQs/TAQs.html). Members of the TMS Composite Materials Committee will regularly update the database, which currently includes information on approximately 140 companies active in metal-matrix composites.
TMS members will receive access to the database as a benefit of membership. Purchase of the book Metal Matrix Composites in Industry: An Introduction and a Survey will also grant individuals access to the on-line database. This book and CD-ROM set, which includes the original database with information that is current up to 2003, can be purchased through the TMS Document Center at http://doc.tms.org.
