Superalloys Technical Expertise Accessible Through TMS Web Site
(WARRENDALE, PA, USA)… Answers to technical questions about the processing, fabrication, and applications of superalloys are now accessible through a new Web feature designed by The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS). “Technical Questions@TMS: Superalloys,” located at www.tms.org, allows users to search by 18 topical areas to access information about superalloys and obtain advice from a technical expert in the field.
The topical areas fall into the categories of applications, processes, properties, research and development, and general information. Once a specific topic is chosen, users may access frequently asked questions; technical summaries; recommended reading; learning opportunities, such as meetings and short courses; and Web links to related sites; as well as, e-mail the technical expert and receive an answer within 48-hours.
The superalloys technical expert is Roger C. Reed, who holds a chair in materials science at the Department of Materials, Imperial College, London, England. Reed is the author of many published research articles on superalloys and is chair of the programme committee of TMS’ International Symposium on Superalloys.
Technical Questions@TMS: Superalloys is the third in a series of technical question Web features TMS offers to members. Technical Questions@TMS: Metal-Matrix Composites and Technical Questions@TMS: Aluminum are also available.
