06/19 - Technical Topics Identified for TMS 136th Annual Meeting


(WARRENDALE, PA, USA) The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) has slated 58 symposia topics for the TMS 2007 Annual Meeting & Exhibition to be held in Orlando, Florida, February 25-March 1, 2007. Light metals; extraction, processing, structure and properties; and emerging materials are the three topical areas for which abstracts are being collected.

The symposia address the technical topics of aluminum technologies; titanium technologies; magnesium technologies; recycling and environmental technologies; computational materials engineering; materials properties and performance; extraction and materials processing; materials characterization; nanomaterials; biomaterials; materials for energy applications; and electronic materials. Abstracts may be submitted online through CMS-Plus at http://cmsplus.tms.org by July 15, 2007.

“The technical program for the 2007 annual meeting really highlights the diversity of our field, addressing both traditional and emerging technologies from both the fundamental and applied perspectives,” commented TMS technical director Todd Osman, Ph.D. “It promises to be a valuable learning and networking opportunity for
