New Funding Program Supports Special Projects, Improves Member Services

The Board of Directors recently authorized two types of funding mechanisms to assist members and committees in supporting society-related endeavors.

DIVISIONAL FAST TRACK-SPECIAL PROJECT PROPOSAL:
This funding mechanism is designed to assist our divisions in promoting and organizing a one-time activity beneficial to the society. The maximum amount per proposal is $5,000 and each division is limited to $10,000 in expenditures per operating year. What constitutes a one-time activity beneficial to the society? Examples include supporting a high-profile keynote speaker to enhance the meeting program, creating a new or unique program feature, or developing a new educational course.

SPECIAL PROJECT PROPOSAL:
A special project is defined as an endeavor that fulfills the TMS Mission Statement and creates and/or improves products, services, or member benefits. It can be a one-time endeavor or continue into the future as a sustainable society product, service, or benefit. This type of proposal can be submitted from either a society technical committee or a society administrative committee.

You can find further information on these funding mechanisms on the TMS Division Handbook page.
