Additive Manufacturing Benchmarks 2018 (AM-Bench 2018)

June 18-21, 2018 ● National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Headquarters
Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA

Benchmark Tests

The organizers of Additive Manufacturing Benchmarks (AM-Bench) are developing a continuing series of controlled benchmark tests with two initial goals:

  • Allow modelers to test their simulations against rigorous, highly controlled additive manufacturing benchmark test data
  • Encourage additive manufacturing practitioners to develop novel mitigation strategies for challenging build scenarios.

The AM-Bench conference series provides a venue for sharing the results of these tests and convening modelers and experimentalists to discuss what works and to identify strategies for resolving what doesn’t work.

Benchmark test details for AM-Bench 2018 will be released in February 2018, with a call for entries issued concurrently. The 2018 benchmarks will include both metals and polymers.

Preliminary information on the benchmark tests, as well as information on the challenge process, is available now at the NIST Benchmark Tests website.

Benchmark Challenges will be announced in February 2018.

Benchmark Measurement and Modeling Symposium

Another opportunity for sharing insights and advancements at AM-Bench 2018 is the Benchmark Measurement and Modeling symposium. The intent of the symposium is to showcase presentations on topics supporting the advancement of new approaches to validating additive manufacturing simulations. Abstracts for this aspect of AM-Bench 2018 are being accepted through December 1, 2017.

Submit your abstract to the Benchmark Measurement and Modeling Symposium.
