Scope: This JOM topic will describe state-of-the-art methods for collecting, mining, and/or analyzing data sets—both experimental and numerical—for which conventional fatigue analyses are unsuitable. The topic will provide a platform to highlight both the challenges and opportunities associated with the analysis of large and/or complex data sets and how researchers in the fatigue community are working to address these challenges through data-driven approaches.
