Scope: At the heart of the future of healthcare is the development of advanced biomaterials and materials that interface with the human body. In addition, the study of the structure and properties of both biological tissues and synthetic materials that interface with the body provides key insight into medical advances. This JOM special topic is accepting submissions on the development and fabrication of biomedical materials (e.g., bioprinting, drug delivery, synthetic tissue fabrication), the study of the structure and properties of biomaterials (e.g., multi-scale mechanics of tissues, the synthetic-bio interface, biocompatibility) and related topics.

How to Submit a Manuscript

To ensure sufficient time for peer review, papers will not be accepted after the posted manuscript submission deadline. Original research papers should be 3,000-9,000 words with up to 12 figures maximum; review papers should be 6,000-11,000 words with up to 20 figures maximum.
