TMS Publications Home

TMS publishes numerous journals, conference proceedings volumes, textbooks, and other print and electronic publications designed to give materials scientists and engineers current information on scientific and applied advances. These publications also provide materials scientists and engineers respected forums in which to publish research results. Review the author guidelines below to submit an article for publishing.

TMS members receive free subscriptions and significant discounts on many of these publications. Visit the Members Only page to access this benefit. Not a TMS member? You can join today and receive instant access.

BOOKS AND CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

TMS publishes conference proceedings and volumes for many of the annual and specialized meetings held every year. To view available proceedings, visit the Knowledge Resource Center, which has keyword and technical interests search features available.

Author Guidelines
The Conference Proceedings Guide presents all information and support material needed to prepare a paper for publication in a symposium proceedings volume. Authors will be directed to the appropriate page template and be able to download the copyright and offprint forms. Editors may download the Editor's Kit (PDF), which is a useful guide for reviewing all materials that authors are required to use.

INTEGRATING MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURING INNOVATION

NEW! TMS is pleased to introduce Integrating Materials and Manufacturing Innovation (IMMI), a new Open Access journal that supports the accelerated discovery, development, and application of materials, materials systems, and materials processes for practical use in manufacturing. The journal combines the peer review rigor of scholarly publications with enhanced digital content.

Author Guidelines
Interested authors should visit the Instructions for Authors page, which has complete information on how to format and submit articles to this journal.

JOM: THE MEMBER'S JOURNAL

Published by TMS, JOM is a professional's forum for technology exchange among dedicated materials scientists and engineers practicing in a wide spectrum of technical specialties. These technical interest areas can be broadly defined as extraction and processing; light metals; materials design and manufacturing; structural materials; and electronic, magnetic, and photonic materials.

Author Guidelines
Interested authors should review the editorial schedule presented in the Technical Emphasis Calendar, and select a technical area and respective issue. Visit the JOM Author Guide page for complete information on how to format and submit to this monthly journal. The journal's editorial office is based at TMS headquarters.

METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS TRANSACTIONS

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions publishes contributions on all aspects of research and significant engineering advances in materials science and metallurgy. Issued monthly, A focuses on physical metallurgy and materials science. Published bimonthly, B focuses on process metallurgy and materials processing science.

Author Guidelines
The MMT Author Guide describes how to prepare and submit manuscripts for publication in the journals. Approved manuscripts will be published according to subject matter in section A (physical metallurgy and materials science) or B (process metallurgy and materials processing science). The journals' editorial office is based at Carnegie Mellon University.

JOURNAL OF ELECTRONIC MATERIALS

The Journal of Electronic Materials (JEM) is a monthly journal published by TMS and the Electronic Devices Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. JEM regularly reports on the science and technology of electronic materials, while examining new applications for semiconductors, magnetic alloys, insulators, and optical and display materials. The journal also selectively publishes invited and contributed review papers on topics of current interest to enable individuals in the field of electronics to keep abreast of activities in areas peripheral to their own.

Author Guidelines
The journal welcomes articles on methods for preparing and evaluating the chemical, physical, and electronic properties of these materials. Visit the JEM Author guide for complete information on how to format and submit to this monthly journal. The journal's editorial office is based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
