This site contains all the information and support material relevant to publishing symposium proceedings volumes, textbooks, and monographs through TMS.
| PROCEEDING INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS |
Authors who have been scheduled for a presentation during a meeting are
eligible for inclusion in the symposium proceedings. Please review and follow the
instructions below to participate. New authors may be considered for
inclusion in a proceedings volume by submitting and presenting
abstracts at selected TMS meetings. Visit the TMS Global Meetings
Calendar to find which meetings are currently accepting abstract submissions.
- Prepare the manuscript
Depending on which proceeding volume the manuscript is for, there are a set of specific manuscript-preparation guidelines, which must be followed. Authors should refer to proceedings invitation letter for which format to follow, or contact proceedings@tms.org
with any questions.
- One-Column Format
The one-column format is typical for 6 x 9 hard copy proceedings or CD-ROM proceedings.
- Two-Column Format
The two-column format is typical for 8.5 x 11" hard copy proceedings.
- Submit the manuscript and copyright form
Regardless of the publication, a TMS Transfer of Copyright Form (PDF) must be completed and submitted along with the finished manuscript.
- Agree to the publication approach
Authors must agree to the publication as outlined in the proceedings invitation letter.

To initiate the process for a proceedings volume, potential editors should review the Editor's Guide below, and then complete and
submit the appropriate proposal form.
- Review the Editor's Guide
Editors will need to review the Editor's Guide (PDF) and review all of the materials that the authors will be required to use.
- Submit a Proposal Form
Potential editors should complete and submit the appropriate book proposal form as indicated below.
