JOM: Volume 47, Number 7--July 1995
ABOUT THE COVER
The desire for weight reduction has generated a great deal of interest in lightweight materials--particularly aluminum and magnesium--for transportation applications. Reflective of the trend, this issue examines many associated issues, including performance, costs, and supply. As an illustration, the cover shows aluminum airbag canisters and has been excerpted from Brown et al.'s overview of aluminum and the automotive industry, which begins on page 20.
