Robert A. Rapp
Lecture Title: “Some Generalities in the Analyses of Equilibria in Ionic
Solutions”
Biography: Robert A. Rapp is professor emeritus at Ohio State
University’s department of materials science and engineering.
He earned his B.S. in 1956 from Purdue University, and his M.S. and
Ph.D. from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1958 and 1959, all
in metallurgical engineering. Dr. Rapp was a research metallurgist at
Wright Patterson Air Force Base before joining the faculty at Ohio State.
He has published over 230 papers and holds 15 patents. Dr. Rapp was
a Guggenheim Fellow from 1972 to 1973, and is a fellow of several societies.
He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
