for the 26th Annual Northern California Electronic Materials Symposium is $85 for individuals and $35 for full-time students. A preregistration discount is available by mail if the payment is received by March 16, 1998. The fee covers admission to the symposium sessions, a luncheon, abstracts of the presentations, a vendor exhibit, and a hosted cocktail hour following the symposium.
Preregistration is strongly encouraged, as physical limitations require that attendance be limited to the first 400 registrants. You may register in advance by printing, completing, and sending the meeting registration form. |
The Northern California Section of the The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society and the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Electron Devices Society are pleased to announce the 26th annual one-day symposium on electronic materials technology, to be held at the Sunnyvale Hilton in Sunnyvale, California on March 23, 1998. The symposium sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m., and will feature presentations on advanced electronic materials processing techniques and devices, and analytical techniques by outstanding speakers who have made significant contributions to their respective fields. The speakers and their topics include:
Other Symposium Highlights
In addition to the planned technical program, Gordon Moore, chairman emeritus of Intel, will return, after 24 years, to speak at the EMS luncheon on the topic, "Trends in Integrated Electronic Technology II." The symposium will also feature exhibitions of vendor literature, equipment, instrumentation, and materials by companies serving the industry.
Also, presentations will be made of the 24th annual Ross Tucker Memorial student awards and the First EMS Undergraduate Scholarship. This award is presented to students interested in electronic, optical or magnetic properties and processing of materials. The scholarship award will be between $500 and $1000 per year, and will be granted on the basis of an application and faculty recommendations. For more details, download the 1998 Undergraduate Scholarship Application, which is available as a portable document format file (viewable and printable using the free software Adobe Acrobat).
