This short course will cover key aspects of processing bauxite to alumina including digestion, precipitation, impurities, solid-liquid separation, calcination as well as issues and opportunities associated with the residue generated.

This course will be of interest to anyone associated with technical aspects of alumina refining. It will be especially useful for junior engineers or engineers who are specialized in one aspect of the process but have had limited exposure to other aspects being discussed. The course could also be helpful for researchers, as industry challenges and limits of current technologies will be discussed.
