Make new connections and meet with colleagues at the following networking events, which bring you face to face with scientists and engineers from around the world. Please note that tickets to all social and networking events must be purchased by Friday, February 16. Some events require a ticket to attend; you can add a ticket to an existing registration or purchase one when you register for the conference.

Whether you are competing, cheering on your school, or just watching, join us at the 2024 TMS Materials Bowl for a fun and fast-paced event. After the Materials Bowl, take a break and have some fun at an informal networking reception open to students, faculty advisors, recruiters, and Materials Bowl spectators. Light food and beverages will be available. No tickets or reservations are required.

Join your fellow attendees on the first night of the conference for an informal networking event celebrating the opening of the TMS 2024 Annual Meeting & Exhibition. Designated networking spaces for each of the five TMS technical divisions will allow you to identify and meet up with colleagues who share your professional interests, as well as with TMS division and technical committee leaders. It will be an excellent opportunity to introduce yourself to the colleagues you’ll be seeing throughout the week and to connect with old friends. Remember to pick up your badge at the registration desk prior to the start of the event. Registration closes at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Navigating the Federal Agency Grant Landscape for Successful Proposal Writing: Panel and Meet-and-Greet with Federal Program Managers

TMS Committee Membership Volunteer Fair: Your Nucleation Site for Career Growth

Have you ever thought about becoming part of a TMS Committee, but aren't sure how to get started? This “volunteer fair” provides a platform to link interested conference attendees with opportunities to join a TMS committee. The event features a unique open format that enables you to meet face-to-face with current members and representatives of numerous TMS committees. A brief overview of the TMS committee structure will be provided, followed by a free-form networking session where attendees can connect with representatives of multiple committees to learn more about the scope of activities of each committee and opportunities to join. Both technical committees and society-level functional committees will be featured.  Participation in TMS committees is open to ALL TMS members – academia, government, and industry; graduate students; early-career, mid-career, and experienced professionals – so come learn how TMS committee involvement can help grow YOUR career.

There is no cost to attend the awards ceremony to honor those individuals who are being recognized for excellence in their fields. Prior to the awards ceremony, you can meet with and congratulate award recipients at a special reception. Tickets for the reception are $30 each and include drinks and appetizers.
