The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks new faculty at the Assistant Professor level.

Particular areas of interest include design of metal alloys and related materials for sustainability and service under extreme conditions, including ultrahigh temperatures and aggressive environments. 

Research incorporating synthesis, characterization, and simulation is of particular interest, as is research that complements existing efforts in high temperature materials, nuclear materials, and advanced manufacturing across the College of Engineering.

Successful candidates will be teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising graduate student research; developing and directing a strong, funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; and contributing to professional and public service.
