The Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in Metallurgical Engineering. Interested applicants must have earned at least one degree in metallurgical engineering and a PhD degree in metallurgical engineering or a closely related discipline. Expertise in mineral processing, especially in comminution and froth flotation, extractive metallurgy and/or geometallurgy is preferred. Applicants for the associate professor level must have a demonstrated record of research, extensive work experience in the mineral processing industry or in reputable mineral/metallurgical laboratories, or substantial experience as an academic faculty.

Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in metallurgical engineering, developing an externally funded research program, producing scholarly publications and supervising graduate students, working collaboratively with faculty within the department and across disciplines in UNR.

The UNR enjoys the Carnegie Classification™ of R1 as a comprehensive, doctoral university with very high research activity. The Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Department is a part of the Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering equipped with excellent lab facilities.
