Thank you for your interest in the Graduate Student Advisory Council.
Applications are now closed for the 2025-2027 Volunteer Term.
The Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) of TMS is a dynamic group of graduate students who collaborate closely with professionals on the Membership, Diversity, and Development Committee, a functional committee of TMS. The council plays a vital role in providing updates, insights, and recommendations on key issues such as graduate student engagement, diversity initiatives, and professional development. These contributions are forwarded to TMS leadership, ensuring that the perspectives and needs of graduate students are effectively represented.
Council members serve two-year terms and must be active members of the TMS Graduate Student Program. As the council grows, its activities will evolve to meet the changing needs and opportunities within the society, promoting mentorship, networking, and professional growth for graduate students in the minerals, metals, and materials fields. Managed by the Membership, Diversity & Development Committee, this council offers an exciting opportunity for students to engage with professionals in the minerals, metals, and materials fields while helping shape key initiatives within TMS. Members of the GSAC will not only gain valuable exposure to industry experts but will also develop essential leadership, communication, and professional development skills through their active participation in this volunteer-driven committee.
