Scope: To meet the demands for future nuclear energy, the nuclear industry is seeking new ways to manufacture equipment and components for plant construction, reactor internals, fuel claddings and assemblies, sensors, and instruments. These manufacturing innovations are expected to accelerate deployment schedules, reduce supply chain and cost, and improve the plant’s reliability. Potential areas include additive manufacturing, advanced welding and cladding techniques, powder metallurgy, high performance concrete and rebar, surface modification, in-situ quality control, inspection, and advanced machining.
